The secret to living healthy past age 100
A new study identifies a vital trait to living for (at least ) a century .What is the secret of people who lives healthy beyond the age of 100 ? Researchers have found two main actors, which play a great role identifying the health and the age of human being. They are the inflammation in great sense and the Telomere. Telomere is the segment of DNA that occurs at the ends of chromosomes. Old age does not cause death, disease does.
As first, the low level of inflammation. Centenarians are people who live more than 100 years. Centtenarians and Supercentenarians are different, but they age slower. Dr.Thomas Von Zglinicks, a cellular-geron theologist at Newcastle University, said in a written statement "They can ward off diseases for much longer than the general population”. If the physical activity causes inflammation, it will shorten the age. As is known, the average age in the developed countries (industrial societies) is longer than it is in developing countries. One main reason, as many scientists demonstrated , is the using of technology. Technology is made to make the human and may other creatures comfortable, to give us control over things, and to accelerate the production process and therefore the developing rates of the economy. People with lower markers of chronic inflammation also tend to be less likely to develop diseases that means suppression inflammation could be the number one key to not only living longer but to staying healthy longer. Researchers have demonstrated that chronic systemic inflammation is a key factor in the development of many common chronic diseases, including heart attacks, peripheral vascular disease, and most shocks. If one can minimize inflammation in the body and reduce the risk or progression of disease, then it makes sense that individuals have a better chance to live longer. Therefore, the benefits of reducing the level of inflammation factor are :
1-Good cognition and independence for the longest period of time.
2-Inflammation is a stronger predictor of cognitive capacity than gender or biological age.
3-Inflammation can even accelerate the aging process.
The second factor is the Length of the Telomere [ definition (1) ]. The natural end of a chromosome composed of a usually repetitive sequence and serving to stabilize the chromosome [International scientific].
The segments of a DNA that occurs at the end of chromosome, either end of chromosome. A terminal chromosome acts as caps to keep the sticky ends of chromosomes from randomly clumping together [ Definition (2)] .
Genetics , a compound structures at the end of chromosome. In addition to low levels of inflammation, people over 100 years old also have longer Telomeres, which are the caps on the end of DNA strands that protect the chromosome from aging and poor health. Telomere Length has generally been thought to be the strongest predictor of how healthy someone will be in their old age [Definition (3)]. However, the researchers found that once a person reaches 100, inflammation levels rather than telomere length better predict successful aging and cognitive ability.
Conclusion, we could reach the age of century and more, and living healthy for a long period of time by controlling the inflammation status regularly and keep it down. This should slow down the aging process and thus might postpone onset of multiple aging diseases, potentially including dementia. And it comes as second, the telomere length, on which the research should concentrate and which should be increased to the optimal length. The Human Could Reach The Average Age Of A Century And More, Could not He ..
